Taps like the Armitage Shanks Markwik 21+ Comfort Sequential Panel Mounted Mixer Tap have been designed as direct replacement for their TMV3 tap and could be considered as an option to replace TMVs in ‘intermediate’ areas used by the general public within hospitals.
As always, there use has to be subject to a scalding risk assessment. Where a risk assessment indicates removal of TMV taps is an option, a pressure balancing tap allows hospitals to reduce maintenance costs.
Other manufacturers also exist but the Markwik 21+ continues to be a popular option that is fitted in hospitals.
What (if any) pressure balancing taps are you using in hospital environments and are they working well to reduce your reliance on TMVs?
